ALERTS:

** Awards Banquet Monday, July 19th - We want to honor all of our swimmers and thank our coaches and families by having an end-of-the-season Awards Banquet.  Please come if you can.  All the kids will be getting an award.  We originally planned it for Saturday, July 24th but due to scheduling conflicts we've had to change it to Monday, July 19th. It will be held at the OSC pool beginning at 6:30 p.m. The team will supply the hamburgers (we know you haven't had that in a while ;) ) and condiments and we're asking parents to sign-up to bring a side item.  Attached is a list of suggested side items and we'll also post one on the pool message board.  You can sign-up for something there or email back with what you'll bring and we'll add it to the list on the board.  Also, if you would please let us know by next Friday (7/16) how many in your family will be coming, it would help out a lot.

** The big City Meet is next Friday and Saturday!  We will be posting information (parking, tent set up location, etc.) on the team bulletin board as well as sending you an email with this info soon.  Or . . . you can always check the CASL website for this (and more) information.

** Parent Survey.  Also, HERE is a parent survey which we would like everyone to fill out regarding our coaches.  You can print the attached form and complete it or take one from the pool message board to fill out.  There will be a box in front of the message board for you to drop the surveys in.  The box will be there through the night of the banquet for your convenience.  Please take this opportunity to give us your feedback.

News:

** Certain swimming still open for members during evening practice which is now 6:30pm - 7:30pm

The Tidal Waves will have the entire big pool during that time with the lane with the slide in addition to the baby pool to remain open for pool members during swim practice this season.

**  Job sign ups for Friday and Monday's Meets -  Please be sure to check our volunteer sign up board the next time you are at the pool.  We always try and have it sitting out along with the vacation board.  At last glance we were still in need of filling some jobs for the Friday Fun Meet (sign up on the back) as well as Monday's home meet.

** Parking Guidelines

Remember to park only in the OSC pool parking lot. If this is full, please use the parking lot beside the OSC gym. Do not park in the baseball sport's lot nor Fit One's parking lot.

Parents Meeting / Events:

** City Meet  - We have extended the City Meet sign up until Monday, June 21st.  Your payment must accompany your registration and your check should be made out to OSC Tidal Waves  (If you made your check out last night to just OSC, that's OK.)  If you need information pertaining to the City Meet, our website has a link to CASL (or go to www.chattanoogaswim.com).  Under the heading "City Meet Dates", click "2010 City Meet Info".  If you have additional questions, please contact our pool reps, Stephanie Huskins 423-596-9401 or Missy Burks 423-504-6057.

Instructions for signing up:  Attached is a copy of the events (2 pages).  Print and staple the two pages together, circle up to 5 individual events within your child's age bracket that they want to swim (don't circle any relays), print the swimmers name in the top right corner of the form, and if your swimmer wants to swim in a relay put "available for relay" under their name.  Coach Joanna will determine the relay teams.  If you can't decide which events to select, write that on the form and indicate how many individual events they would like to swim.  When Coach Joanna gets the form, she will pick the events for you and let you know.  The price is $7 per individual participant for organizational fees ($6 CASL and $1 OSC) plus $3 per individual event.  (ie: $22 for 5 events, $19 for 4 events, $16 for 3 events, etc.)  You do not need to pay for any relay costs.  The team will cover this.

**  Home Meets - Below are a few changes to try and make our home meets run smoother:
  1)  OSC swimmers need to check in at the front table so we know they are present.
  2)  Copies of the heat sheets (like what is posted on the fence showing the swimmers and their events) will be available at the front table for $1.
  3)  The pool deck from the diving blocks back will be reserved for swimmers only.  We will have tents and signs designating age brackets for the younger swimmers.  If you see a sign with your swimmers age on it, they need to sit with their group throughout the meet.  Parents can set up anywhere else and are welcome to check on their child as needed, but we need the kids to stay with their age group at all times except for restroom trips.
  4)  During the meets, if you have any questions or problems related to your swimmer's events, please discuss this with the pool reps Stephanie Huskins and Missy Burks and not the coaches or officials. Our pool reps know the procedures to follow to get your problem resolved.

**Team Pictures: The new date for our team picture is this Tuesday, June 22nd, at 5:00.  The photographer will also stay and do action shots for anyone who wants them.

** Fundraisers: We have two fundraisers scheduled for Saturday, June 26th.  The first is a pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. at Beef-O-Brady's just down from the Ooltewah Publix .  We are asking each family to try and sell at least 10 tickets at $5 each and then come join us for a great breakfast.  After the breakfast, from 11:00am till 4:00pm, we will hold a car wash at the Wendy's in Ooltewah at the corner of Hwy 11 and Ooltewah-Georgetown Rd.  Anyone who can, we would appreciate your help with the car wash.  We'll need buckets, sponges, towels, and chamois/shammy.  Please label your items if possible so we can be sure you get them back.  All of the proceeds will go towards the team for needs such as a starter and PA system, which would have helped tremendously at our last meet so please come help support your team in this effort.  Thanks!
